Daily Devblog
Hello World!
Today I have chosen to write my first ever devblog for a side project of mine.
My name is Linus, and my dayjob is being a game designer for a WIP game called Octane Remix. My Sideproject however, which I have chosen to temporarily call "Masks of the Damned", is a smaller RPG-style game, wherein the player has to use a variety of different masks, in order to overcome challenges and battles within the game. Very simplistic, I know.
I started this project about a week ago with the aim of implementing at least one feature a day, as part of a lighting study to see how I could create a nice ambience. I grew a bit more attached however, and I have decided to try and develop this a tad further. What you see in the attached gif, is just a simple inventory/equipment system, to showcase how the masks will interact with the player.
Of course, in its current state, the game is very "Asset Flip-ey". The only part other than lighting and level design (coming from the unity engine), that I have made, is the character itself. Of course, I aim to change that, but we all need some placeholders at the start.
Frankly, I think that for now that's all from me. Hopefully, I will be able to update this devblog often with new features and interesting details!
